  •    Google Wave Embed Test

I was amazed by the power of the Google Wave, so I wanted to try a few of its features.

The best thing to try is how to embed it on a blog or website. My adventure on this task started of me searching for possible ways to put a Wave on my blog. In the process, I was able to find a plugin for WordPress. I installed and tested it, but it didn’t give a satisfactory result. So I continued searching and found a discussion that helped me embed a wave.

    Here’s my test wave:

I am happy with the help that I got from the discussion. I really learned a lot.

I guess a voice and video solves all the problem for people who communicates via Gmail. My father and I use this because my dad doesn’t know how to use anything but Gmail.

Now communicating via Gmail would be better than ever, and I know Google is making things better.

  •    Google Translation Service

I just read the post of a Filipino SEO, Benj Arriola about the Google Translation service. He created a good example on his site; a Tagalog or Filipino being translated in English. I just want to refer you to it, so that you would understand it more clearly.

Here’s Benj’s post: Ingat sa mga translations

For now, the translation is not refined, but as Benj say, it would be soon.

I think it is a great development for us to gain more knowledge. My apploud to Google on this one, but their Google Chrome just isn’t doing well for me now.

  •    Google Chrome: Ready for Download

I downloaded and installed Google Chrome awhile ago to test it. As I have blogged yesterday, this is still on Beta and I expect that there would be a lot of changes from then on.

    Feature checking:

    • It copied all my bookmarks and saved data’s from Firefox. So, I have a smooth transition. I haven’t loss any info I needed, and that’s a big – OK.
      • OH! I just found out, there’s no plugins, addons, toolbars, etc. yet. So, I will be waiting for that. I need to install a PR tool to have a live PR view everytime I check a websites.
    • It promised to be faster, and so I tried it on sites that loads slow. Result: it was indeed a bit faster.
    • The design is good for the eye and it seems to use all the spaces provided, but clean to look at.

To sum it all up, I like it.

    Additional Info:

    • I was doing QA on some of my clients site when I noticed that Google Chrome does not or could not recognize referrer page. [NOT GOOD]
    • A friend also said that he could not install flash on Google Chrome.
As for now these are the problems we are seeing.

There has been write-ups that this is what they call the Google OS. Check SearchEngineWatch but I think Google is still working on that one. As I have said on my former post, “Google is making its way to be the virtual service that anyone would ever need.”

Are you on Chrome yet? If not – better not be late, because everyone seems to be moving to this browser. I just did!

  •    New Open-Source Web Browser: Google Chrome

Everyone seems to be talking about this new Google Browser – Google Chrome. As Google had announced it on their blog, that it will be released for Beta September 2, 2008 (Tuesday). Philippine time seems to be advanced, so need to wait for their Tuesday.

In the meantime, while we are waiting for the launch, here is a comic book to explain more about Google Chrome.

It seems, Google is slowly making its way to be the virtual service that anyone would ever need. Plus open-source … FREE FREE FREE is always nice!

Will it kill Firefox, Internet Explorer and all those other web browsers? We don’t know yet. But time will tell, and that time is near. So, let us keep track on its update and reviews once it is out.

If this works well, Google will surely conquer the virtual world.

  •    July 2008 Google Page Rank Update

I just saw some changes on my sites PR (Page Rank) today. This site has went down to PR 1 from PR 2. Actually, most of my sites had decrease in PR, however one of my site did have an increase and that is the Iloilo Bloggers; from PR 3 to PR 4.

I noticed that some pages or profiles of members had increase in PR as well, most of them have PR 2 profiles, while 2 of them had a PR 3; GM and Oliver.

Now, what seem to contribute this PR increase? I think it is because members had linked the site up and their blogs may have gained PR, so that is added into my score on Google.

Because I had a PR 4 on my Iloilo Bloggers, I will give you 4 SEO TIPS on how to earn PR:

    1. Create a BUZZ to have other sites link you. -TIP given by Benj Arriola
    2. Have a good design for your blog or site.
    3. Update – not necessarily a daily update, but you have to check it once in a while to be able to reply for comments of visitors.
    4. Do not link up PTB (Paid To Blog) sites, Google hates them, that was the main BIG thing during the PR update last October 2007.

That’s it for now. Good Luck and may you have a PR increase on the next Google PR Update.
